Bahá'í Faith Guide: Dale E. Lehman A note from Dale: I joined About in January, 2000. The job had dropped out of the sky and into my lap three months earlier. Prior to that, I hadn't even heard of About. I quickly realized that it was a major presence on the Web and an ideal place for introducing people to my relatively unknown religion. Over the past year and nine months, I did my best to provide a broad range of resources so that both the person who had never heard of the Bahá'í Faith and lifelong Bahá'ís would find something of interest. Although I had had a feeling for some months that my site might be in trouble--it was, after all, only at about the 30th percentile in terms of overall popularity at About--the email I received on September 26 was something of a bombshell. But by the week's end, my associates and I had begun to hatch plans for a new site that would replace the deceased About site: Planet Bahá'í. Although it will be tough building up the same kind of visibility we had at About, having an independent site also opens up greater possibilities, so overall we are pretty happy with the way things have played out in the wake of the old site's demise. The main thing for me was never money, but simply to be of some small service to my religion and to help educate people about it. That mission continues.
