Guide: Paula Kirman

A note from Paula:

I was the About.com Guide for Edmonton, AB, from December of 1998 to September of 2001.

During my three years running the site, I watched the community grow as I added articles on Edmonton's various attractions and aspects of life. My favorite parts of the site were the photo galleries that I spent countless hours creating, as I roved through Edmonton with my digital camera in hand.

When About.com chopped 300 sites from their taxonomy in September of 2001, all of the Canadian cities were affected. Since my site was used by thousands of Edmontonians as a source of information and community, I simply knew I could not let them down. As a result, I now maintain the site Inside Edmonton, which picks up where the old site left off.

I am a full-time freelance writer and Web designer, and always have many projects on the go. I am a WZ-ard at WZ.com for several topics, including Bicycle Commuting and Jethro Tull, and am the Contributing Editor of Canadian Literature at Suite101.com. Some of you also know me as About's Guide to World Music. That site got cut as well, and I have also put my content back online at Inside World Music.
