Guide: Caitlin Dempsey

A note from Caitlin:

I pioneered the GIS/Geographic Information Systems site at About from November 1999 to September 2001. Within a short amount of time, About GIS become a top five visited site in the GIS field. I am looking forward to continuing the development of this online GIS community with the launch of my new site GIS Lounge.

I also continue to work as a GIS analyst for a local city in Southern California. I learned the tricks of the GIS trade as an intern for the National Park Service headquartered in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Before moving to municipal GIS I was a GIS analyst for a natural resource agency located in Topanga, California.

The launch of GIS Lounge will continue the focus on providing GIS related content to visitors of all levels. My ultimate goal is to provide an online resource for newbies as well as the seasoned GISer.
