New York City for Visitors

Guide: Julie Altebrando

A note from Julie:

Ever since my Dad used to take me along with him on his job as Catering Manager at the Plaza, I've had a special relationship with New York City. Since 1997, I've hosted the New York City for Visitors site at About.com and through my work there I've met some of the most fascinating New Yorkers in the city--as well as some of the nicest folks around: my fellow About.com Guides. I've been lucky enough to see the city literally from bottom to top--from subway tunnels and elevator shafts to the top of our beloved World Trade Center.

In September, 2001 About.com made the decision to cut over 300 sites from its network and move towards an e-commerce based model, a decision that left many sites and editors without a home. I then decided to take my content and join the AllInfoAbout network. AllInfoAbout New York City (nyc.allinfoabout.com) has the same New York City-centric information, including our ever-popular Events Calendar and forums, as well as some new surprises.

I'm also working on New York Noshes, a site that will include information, reviews, recipes, and chef interviews from some of the hottest restaurants in the city. We'll also include quintessential New York City recipes from quintessential New York City folks!
