18th Century History Guide: Rick Brainard A note from Rick: I've managed the About site to 18th century from March 1997 (About was then known as The Mining Co.) to January 31, 2001. This is when the editorial staff decided to no longer cover this important era in history. During my term as Guide to 18th century History I have had the opportunity to assist teachers, students, writers and others interested in the period, to gain an understanding how the world became the one we know today. Since then I have been the managing editor of two Web sites about history. The 18th century History site, which contains all the material that was formerly located on About.com and a new Web site specifically devoted to the American Revolution. I am also in the midst of writing an ebook about the American Revolution which will be available soon at the American Revolution Web site. To all my loyal readers at About.com, you still can find the information that you need and sign up for my newsletters found at both sites.
