A note from Therese:

I managed the Lesbian Life site at About.com from December 1997 (when it was The Mining Company) until June 30th, 2001.  I have extensive experience with various types of sites, including America Online industry forums (computer industry), news/issues forums (ACLU) and entertainment forums (Rosie O'Donnell, Warner Bros., and ExtraTV).

During my time with About.com, I discovered a need in our community that was not being addressed by the more popular sites online.  Many lesbians and bisexual women could not find the resources, information and support they needed while coming out to themselves.  Providing those resources, along with support and a nurturing community became the backbone of Lesbian Life.

In the interest of continuing and expanding as a resource, I have created Lesbian Worlds.  I invite all of you to join me in this latest endeavor.
